Rules and Regulations in Regard to Number four, Privet Drive:
Please note that all of these rules are subject to change, addition, and/or deletion. Admins have the right to determine punishment best suited and will generally consult one another. Any questions and concerns are always welcomed by the admins, but we will not spoon feed your help.
Please note that all of these rules are subject to change, addition, and/or deletion. Admins have the right to determine punishment best suited and will generally consult one another. Any questions and concerns are always welcomed by the admins, but we will not spoon feed your help.
1. All characters must have an approved profile. This approved profile must follow the provided code at minimum. The profile code is subject to change and all profiles post edition must contain the updated code. Any profiles that do not follow the code and all of the instructions can at minimum be temporarily denied.[/size]
----A. In the case of temporarily denied profiles, you will be notified via a moderator or admin of the necessary changes required to make your profile acceptable. A profile will not be checked more than five (5) times before it is denied and moved to archives. At this point you may either start fresh or delete your account.
2. All signature/avatars content must be PG-13. No nudity/pornography is allowed. Along with this, no signature should stretch the board or slow the board down in any way. Signatures that break any of these rules will be removed by an admin and if this continues, you will receive a warning or even a temporary banning.
3. All roleplay posts should be at minimum two (2) solid paragraphs (at least 8 solid sentences total). You do not need to write long excessive posts. Although novels are nice, in roleplay they don’t really go anywhere and your excessive use of them is not necessary and may result in a warning. Not only do long superfluous posts leave unnecessary expectations for your partner, but they can also slow the site down.
4. Profanity is not allowed on the boards. However, small uses and nothing too obscene will be excused. Obviously some characters are more… vulgar, but please avoid actually saying it. It can be seen as offensive and should generally be avoided.
----A. We are willing to accept things like “Bloody hell”, “damn”, “shit” and other variants, anything else is not necessary and will not be tolerated. Use may result in a warning and at worse a ban.
5. Adult Content is not allowed on the boards. EXCEPT within the board designated; however, you must get permission in order to use this board. Violators will be warned and further actions taken if necessary.
6. If, for any reason, you need to go on hiatus, please let us know. We have a board designated specifically for this. If you cannot get onto the site please let one of the admins know and we shall alert the others. It’s disrespectful and rude to just randomly vanish.
7. Everyone, I repeat, everyone must go through the sorting hat. This is not optional. You must also include the link to your results in your post. It’s a simple request, and not that difficult.
8. Spam, trolling, excessive rudeness is not tolerated here. Do it and suffer consequences. Let’s be civil, shall we?
9. The admins try to remain unbiased; however, sometimes you may feel as if you or someone else is being treated in an unjust and biased manner. If you feel as though an admin or other moderator is not remaining unbiased you may file a formal complaint. This formal complaint must contain 3 direct quotes or examples as evidence of the biased behavior. All complaints should be intellectual and level-headed. Should the issue involve an admin, these complaints should be filed to the other admin via PM on the site. Yahoo IMs are an unaccepted format. If the issue involves both admins, the complaint should go to Laylani. If the issue is simply with a moderator of a board [say, a teacher], the complaint should be sent to BOTH admins.
10. Any form of illegal behavior will not be tolerated. Consequences will result depending on the severity of the action. This applies to both roleplay and OOC.
11. Graphics for signatures may be made and are very acceptable, however graphics that are too large can be both distracting to the board and slow the site down itself. The largest standard size accepted is 600x250. That is both large enough and small enough, and if you can't fit whatever message you're wanting to send into that, perhaps consider revising your message. Signatures may include things like site links to blogs, or personal webpages, if desired.
12. Maximum avatar size is 200x200. Anything uploaded as an avatar that is larger may be deleted. Please resize your photos so that they aren't distracting in the "Modify Profile" section. While we aren't on that a lot [it's your profile, not ours], this keeps everything standard and easy to get into.
13. There is a limit of four (4) characters per person on the site. We can see your IP Addresses and if we feel you have violated this rule we can check and even delete one of your characters. If you feel the need to have more than four characters, please bring the issue to the admins.
14. There is now a NO-TOLERANCE policy for drama. This includes outside of forum drama that may affect the forum, i.e. fighting amongst players. You don't have to get to know each other. You don't have to be buddy buddy. You're here for roleplay. While it's NICE to make OOC friends, it's not really necessary. Any bickering between players will result in the following consequences:
-Meeting with mods to discuss issues and why they are affecting the forum
-Probationary period of two weeks, where we monitor you [you being anyone involved] CLOSELY, and if more drama happens, the party that the admins feel has caused the majority of the problem will be banned. Should admins not be able to decide on this, both or all parties will be banned.
15. After creating an account, you have two weeks from the date of approval to submit a profile. This prevents any lurkers and the like.
