Ok, so, sometimes we have a moment of insightful darkness. Something we actually want to talk about seriously or simply bring out a serious, philisophical (sp?) observation. Not for "arguements sake," but to give an idea of how the player behind the character has experienced the world.
So, this one is about the weather/natural disasters.
I live in AZ. The reason my folks retired from the military here is, aside from the droughts and occasional flash flooding, there's no natural disasters to speak of. The tarantula migrations where the street looks like undulating qualifies as CREEPY AS fudge RUN AWAY!, but Not Natural Disasters.
So, this year alone... Arizona had 4 massive fires burning through it, one sweeping over the mountain where my folks live. We've had Tornado's In Mountainous Country. Due to the deforestation (if you can call the scraggily mesquites in the South "forest," the monoons (which are more brutal than usual) have been making the desert a flood plain.
Now, you may think that "fudge You Government, And fudge Daylight Savings" Arizona has nothing to contribute in the whole of things... but we're a serious stop for bird, insect, and various fauna/pollen migrations, without which, patterns of serious shit that make the world keep going round will come to a stop.
Some serious shit, I know. Feel free to add your own personal observances from where you live <3
