Dislikes: When it comes to classes, Cillian doesn’t like Muggle Studies, considering he’s lived as a Muggle his whole life. He also has a distaste for Divination, since he thinks it’s a bunch of crock. He also dislikes strict rules and his mother.
Strengths: He’s a very outgoing and whimsical guy, so he doesn’t usually have trouble making friends, except around people who are genuinely strict.
Weaknesses: Cillian sometimes has a hard time remembering to stop making nasty retorts, especially around his superiors. He doesn’t mouth off to his professors, but they have heard him say a less-than-kind remark to fellow students once in a while, often landing him with harsh verbal warnings and sometimes a detention. Every so often, he seems to “forget” to not prank certain unsuspecting students, such as transfiguring their school supplies into rats and frogs.
History: As far back as Cillian can remembered, he’s lived alone with his mother, Vanora Sinclair. They lived in a generally nice sized two story brick house in Scotland. His mother, a successful business woman at a marketing corporation, always enforced a strict lifestyle upon Cillian, where it sometime seemed like she was living in a dreamland where they were a royal family. His wardrobe consisted of nothing but dress clothes, including designer sweaters and khakis. The only time Cillian had ever brought a pair of jeans into the house, his mother had swiped them from his hands, cut them up, and thrown the remains in the trash, making the house dress code very clear.Belongings:
When Cillian was about four, he had asked his mother for the first time why he didn’t have a father like everyone else. Making an expression mixed with shock and disgust, she simply stated that he had died. No emotion had traced her voice. It didn’t cross Cillian’s mind as strange at that moment, but as he got older, he started to get curious, ask more questions. The same expression would always appear on her face at the mention of his father. All Cillian was able to get out of her was he died in some freak accident, and that had often gotten mixed up with the wrong crowd, which ultimately was the cause of his death. Varona always referred to him as “that man,” never by his first name or even as “your father.” While Cillian still had doubts about his father’s past in his mind, this was all he had to go on.
Cillian’s mother enrolled him in Lennox Castle Academy for Boys, an expensive and prestigious boarding school, which he had been going to since the first grade. With her starry-eyed delusions, she thought by going to “the best” schools, he would turn out to be wealthy and successful in the future, someone everyone would admire and fear, maybe even working with the Royal Family one day. Tired of being pushed by his mother, he started to rebel during school around the age of eight by growing out his hair, paying one of the girls from the sister to school to pierce his left year, not wearing his uniform properly, and often causing disruptions in the classrooms and hallways. Unable to control his behavior, he constantly got suspended from Lennox. He realized the only reason he probably hadn’t gotten expelled was due to the frequent donations his mother gave to the academy.
During the summer holiday of his tenth year, a strange letter came addressed to Cillian. Curious about its strange contents, he showed his mother, who exploded with rage the minute she saw it. Tossing it in the fireplace immediately, she told him that it was nothing he had to concern himself with. The next day, another letter came, which Cillian made sure to hide from his mother this time. Reading over the words “We await your owl,” he figured it had to be a trick, until a stranger came to the door. The man, unfamiliar to Cillian, smiled warmly and called him by his name. His mother seemed to recognize the man who introduced himself as Alistair. Ignoring the screaming protests coming from Cillian’s mother, he revealed to Cillian that he was his father, and also a wizard, telling Cillian that made him a wizard, as well. Confused by everything that he had just been hit with, Cillian felt like he was in a daze. Unsure of everything, Alistair promised he would reveal to him everything about the wizarding world and the truth of his whereabouts during the past years. He has since moved into his father’s country stone cottage, which is also located in Scotland.
General Biography: Originally a quiet boy who would always listen to his mother, Cillian turned into a rebellious, outgoing youth. Most of the time, he’d say what was on his mind, even if he knew it may irritate others, which was often his purpose. He loves to get people riled up just to see their reactions. This is often how he tries to get to know others. Aside all of this, he’s a very friendly guy who just likes to ruffle people’s feathers. Since being enrolled into Hogwarts, he’s calmed this part of his personality some, but he still likes to pull pranks from time to time, mostly on people who he doesn’t get along with.
Although he used to be a rebel at his previous boarding school, he had always taken an interest in chemistry labs and history. Once he started taking classes at Hogwarts, he immediately found a love in Potions and Transfiguration. These are the two classes he practices the most in, always mastering his assignments quickly, and finds himself trying to further his abilities in these subjects. He does like the history classes, too, but finds it much more interesting to read the different history books available to him in the library.
Being new to the wizarding world, Hogwarts was the first place that introduced him to the sport known as Quidditch. Right off the bat, Cillian was hooked. He almost considered trying out for the team. Yet when he was practicing by himself in the field, he found he didn’t have the talent that the Quidditch team members had. Tending to let his curiosity get the best of him, Cillian will sneak out of his room with his friends from time to time to venture around the school grounds, sometimes even into the Forbidden Forest.
Pet: A male Rock Eagle Owl named Ingall, which was a congratulatory gift from his father.
Broom: A Silver Arrow, given to him by his father for Christmas. He only uses it to play amateur games of Quidditch with his friends.
Other: For the most part, Cillian’s inventory in his trunk consists of a few books on Quidditch history, Potions mastery, Transfiguration mastery, and wizarding history, all which he had purchased himself. Among this collection also lies a Muggle book on ballroom dancing, which he Transfigures and Untransfigures back in forth between a book on Ancient Runes and its true form when he keeps it at the bottom of his trunk in a brown leather bag in order to keep others from discovering his secret hobby, fearing he’d constantly get ridiculed for it.
