Desmond stood at the front of his class with a medium sized covered object. He looked around the class before placing his wand to his throat "Sonorus" He said in his normal voice that nearly was drowned out by the children's voices. "Class has begun, settle down." His voice was explosively loud, echoing in the room and hushing the kids almost immediately; his Irish accent still very strong. A passing few in the hall jumped to the sudden loud voice. Removing his wand from his throat, Desmond strolled to the covered medium size object before sighing.
"Today's Lesson involves the dangerous to muggle annoyance of the wizard world." He ripped the blanket from the cage revealing a small creature resembling a rather ugly looking dwarf or a cuter looking golin. "Redcaps. Now, can anyone tell me the reason that they are highly dangerous to humans, but are nothing more than an annoyance to wizards?" Looking around the room he nodded his head at one student. "Yes, Ms. Aleon?"
A short red haired student stood up and smiled, "They are love blood shed and will stalk muggles while they are lost in the dark and will attack unannounced, usually in swarms. Though they are very dangerous, wizards are easily able to handle them with simple charms or hexes."She sat back down to the mumbling of 'teacher's pet' behind her. Her pale face flushing.
Desmond smiled and nodded. "Thank you Ms. Aleon." He turned towards the cage looking over the redcap as it snarled up at him. "I found this one in a castle outside of my old home back in Ireland. Mr. Zenorth come up since you seem to be rather fond of picking on people in my class you will be my helper for the day." The black haired boy looked shocked before mumbling something as he moved up towards Desmond.
"Now, Mr. Zenorth, what spell would you use if you were to meet this little guy alone in the woods?" He asked his student as the redcap stayed focused on Desmond, holding a grudge for his capture.
"The stunning spell?" The student asked unsure.
"Well, let's find out shall we?" He said unlocking the cage and stepping back before putting his wand back. "Try your spell to protect me Mr. Zenorth." The redcap busted out of the cage, causing the kids to scream, as it lunged out at first before turning on Desmond rushing towards him on stubby legs. "What are you waiting for Mr. Zenorth?" He asked as he watched his student freeze up.
In one quick motion, Desmond had redrawn his wand and aimed it. "Stupefy!" He yelled blasting the red blast of light slammed into the redcap sending it on it's back on the ground stunned. Desmond sighed before patting the boy's shoulder. "It's alright, go sit down." He dragged the redcap back to the cage and placed it in it carefully before turning on the class. "If you do not act quickly, you will be hurt in the world of Magic. The world is not all gumdrops and lollipops. Now that the major threat to the wizarding world has been diminished for now does not mean some one can not step up in his place. This is the reason you're in my class..."
