Name: Danica Kiernan
Age and Birthday: 23, 12/31/1989
Desired Position: History of Magic
Experience:
I have an intricate knowledge of the Wizarding World's dark and strange past. I have read several hundred books on the subject, and find it all to be very fascinating to learn about. While I have very little actual experience in this area, I find that I will be a suitable teacher of history because I have been reading about it for roughly 11 years of my life.
Attributes:
Fresh minded - As a former student of History of Magic, I realize just how boring sitting in a class listening to a teacher drone on and on about some great battle that happened who knows how long ago between two goblins. Being fresh-minded, it is my intention to bring some new light into seeing these battles. We will cover everything from the kinds of magic used, to how each player in the battle struck at the other, what started the battle and so on and so forth.
Easy Going - Not many Professors will admit to this, but I'm rather easy going. I'm not so harsh as to deduct 10 points from your house if you forget to bring in an essay. Though if you tread on my late list too long, beforewarned, I will easily change this policy.
Organized- I will be writing a schedule of things to come in the future of our working together, from day one, until exams. It will be updated as we go, amended to include other things we go over. This will give my students a rough estimate of where to expect certain homework assignments, when re-enactments will take place, and most importantly where to find me should they need help with their assignments.
Preview:
I smile and we ease the board until its parallel. His breath catches in his throat as he sees the back of the board, which I've kept carefully hidden from the students. It looks a bit like a big wizard's chess board, black and white squares, only instead of regular chess pieces, I've reconstructed the likenesses of the Giantess Cyera on one side, her brutal followers behind her, and on the other side, what seem to be nearly thousands of human soldiers, all holding wicked looking knives, daggers, swords, and a few wizards thrown in with their lot, their small wands winking in the sunlight. The whole of the set up makes my students gasp.
"As you can see, we plan on learning about this battle alright. But I thought it would be more fun if you had a more...hands on/visible approach to seeing it, rather than having me read out the facts from a dusty old tome." Another smile flickers across my face. "Now then Daniel...you get to be the villagers...and I'll be the giantess and her lot. Now then, can anyone tell me what exactly started this conflict?"
