Danica was taken aback by the tone in the dark haired woman's voice. She then realized she was right, she had never actually introduced herself. She flushes slightly, the color darkening her slightly tanned complexion and seeks to remedy it immediately.
"Ah my apologies. I am the newest staff member here. Danica Kiernan, History of Magic," she says. "Dani for short. I just got the post, and have barely had time to look around. I glanced in my office, but haven't set it up yet. Must have missed the welcome basket. I thought maybe I could come by here and see if anyone else was poking around yet..." Her voice trails off as she glances at Ursula, working furiously on a rubix cube.
"A rubix cube! Wow...I haven't seen one of those in...ages..." her voice fades out as Ursula stands, making a comment about ice cream. She's tempted to follow her, but finds her feet stuck like glue on the stone-work floor. Her eyes flick over the only male in the room, who seemed more interested in the dark haired woman than anyone else. Not that she could blame him. She was a woman who would demand attention when walking into a room.
Suddenly, she realized looking at the dark haired woman introducing herself to the man in the room, she knew this woman. She thought for a moment or two, but when she said her name out loud it clicked. Though she was older than her, perhaps she would remember Danica as well. The thought excited her, and smiling she took a small breath, interrupting them.
"Not to interrupt, but I think we went to school together. You were a year ahead of me," she says, hoping to jar the woman's memory. "During my sorting, I had this awful short, short hair cut. It kind of stuck out like this," she said, gesturing like feathers behind her head. If she could have one friend in the staff, it would make this year easier.

”Oh, Spain! C’est Magnifique! You know… I ‘aven’t been to Barcelona seence I was la petit. ‘e should go at break, Veek.” Geneviève offered, as she reminisced of a country nearly as beautiful to her as her own. She had been a girl of maybe six the last time she had visited, nearly forgetting the place—all she could remember was the châteaux en Espagne—but Geneviève wanted to explore it once more as an adult. “I veezited my parents een Toulouse and ‘ad my Beauxbatons seesters veezit at my villa. They thought zat I should eenstruct back at Beauxbatons, but ‘ere I am!”
The girls of Beauxbatons underestimated Genie’s abilities and although she adored them as if they were her sisters by blood, Genie was a fiery lady and dead set on proving her abilities. She was the crème de la crème of her class; not to mention, she was rather used to sticking out for one reason or another. After all, she was a successful, independent, young lady who wasn’t too hard on the eyes, either. She felt that Beauxbatons had trained her so that she may flaunt her well-rounded behavior throughout other places and be successful beyond training others to do the same. Geneviève knew Madame LeBlanc would approve and she was content with that.
Ursula’s fierce concentration on the strange cube at hand eased Genie’s disgust and she giggled lightly. “Muggles….Je ne comprends pas, Rubix cube? Strange…” Gene eyed the cube but dared not touch it, it was from the trash. What once was a jumble or tiny colored squares was now well-organized sides of solid color. Geneviève was impressed by Ursula’s capabilities though she had a feeling Ursula had surely played with one of those strange ‘Rubix cubes’ before. Genie smiled lightly, shaking her head as Ursula was already off in her own land.
Genie’s eyes scanned the others remaining in the Staff Room. Eyeing carefully the strange new girl who didn’t dress very well, there was something off about her. She didn’t seem to handle being new very well. Gene’s slender hand reached to her face, lifting away her fringe from falling in her eyes as she smiled politely at the new girl. Her hand returning to her side as she stepped over to Victoria, listening quietly.
Some former Hogwarts students were very odd. [/color][/blockquote]

Razeil's eyes looked to Victoria as her voice slipped between her soft red lips. His head tilting slightly to the side as she slipped her hand out to greet him. Standing up slowly, noting her preferred Muggle greeting he decided it was not enough for a woman as herself. No woman should shake the hand of a man, wasn't lady like and should be corrected by treating her properly. Taking her hand in his strong, yet still gentle grasp, he bowed at his waist with his eyes still focused on her face. His lips placed a gentle kiss to the center of the backside of her hand before he would stand back up; giving a small smile to the woman who had just introduced herself to him.
"The name is Razeil Alabaster Black, though Razeil is shorter and far easier to say. After all saying it all in a passing hello would become a nuisance after a while. I am the Ancestral Magical Studies Professor." He ran his hand down the side of his Slytherin robe slipping into his pocket fiddling with something within the pocket's hidden sleeve. His blue eyes lingered a moment on Victoria before glancing to Ursula who had managed to retrieve what he had tossed into the trash. And not only retrieved it, but solved the cursed muggle toy. Seems like it would be easier to rip the stickers from it and rearrange them, he thought to himself as he listened to her explanation of the goal the toy had.
Still, it had no prize for solving the stupid thing and thus, made him even more less interested in it. Razeil preferred to have a goal and a prize at the end. Guess he could be compared to a rodent in a maze, The prize is the goal. He smiled widely at that thought, he was in a sense, a rodent. Shaking the thoughts out of his head, ears catching the voice of the other female in the room who was now speaking to Victoria. He slipped to the side of the two girls letting them seemingly get caught up on their lives since the other one, he could never remember the names of new people, thought Victoria was some one she knew.
Genie's voice forced Razeil's eyes to glance up, he nearly bumped into her as he was slowly trying to retreat from the staff room before he was some how cornered into doing or saying something he would soon regret. He stepped back slowly, eyes slipping back to Victoria as she mingled. Closing his serious blue orbs, Razeil stood still near the girls but having moved closer to the door. Wanting to be social and maintaining his composure would be difficult this year.

Victoria looked toward the new woman, smiling politely and extending her hand for a shake. "Well, hi, I'm Victoria...and I'm pretty sure you could just..." she paused, pulling her wand out of her jacket pocket. "Accio Welcome basket!" Her words were almost like a roar, and after a few moments, the basket from her own office flew through the door and landed on the table in front of her with a -THUNK-. Pulling a candy bar out, Victoria looked smug at her quick thinking and need for snacks. she listened to Danica talk about school, and rolled her eyes to herself. We are teachers now, she thought. Not this immature high-school-reunion crap. Forcing another smile in Danica's direction, she replied, "Oh yeah, probably. I think I remember you maybe? I didn't really talk to a lot of people in school, and I kind of liked it that way."
Turning to the gentleman with the cat, she watched as he took her hand and placed a kiss on it. Always the men, she thought. She smiled politely at him as his eyes met hers, and realized that something a bit more interesting than met the eye hid deep within them. She giggled at his description of calling his entire name out in the halls, imprinting the name in her memory. She would have to meet with him later and pry him, something striking about him she had to know.
She then turned to Genie, smiling as she went on about Spain and visiting her friends and family at Beauxbatons, contemplating their plans for break already. "That's exciting, Genie. I'm glad you had fun. I missed you though!" Pausing, she thought of a way to get out of this awkward situation. "Genie! Someone opened up a new boutique in Hogsmeade, I think we should go give it a look see. We've still got a while before the Great Feast, anyway." Victoria headed towards the door, waiting on her friend.

Geneviève pitied the awkwardness of the new girl. But the lady was quickly distracted by the flying basket that had landed only a few feet in front of her. The tag, Genie noted was addressed to Victoria, who was grabbing a candy bar from the basket. Eyeing the contents once more, it was decided that Genie would dive into her own welcome basket after dinner. She made a swift glance to the new girl, anticipating a sudden inhale of all the candy from the basket like a vortex.
Genie’s blue eyes locked onto Monsieur Black as he introduced himself to Victoria. Her right brow rising slightly as she slowly turned to Victoria with a smirk. The telepathy the two shared was worth far more than words ever could be. A soft giggle escaped her painted lips as a pleasant smile returned to them and her brow lowered to its rightful place.
“Oh Veek! I meessed you too!” Genie’s eyes widened with playful excitement as Victoria mentioned a new boutique. It was clear that everyone was eager to get out of this situation, Geneviève included. “Ooh! A new boutique? Quelle merveille!” A delicate twirl on her heels, Genie had turned to follow Victoria towards the door. However, poor Genie stumbled into Razeil. “Oof!” She squealed lightly. “Excusez-moi, Razeil.” She smiled sweetly, with apologetic eyes before skirting around him and to Victoria at the door. “Au revoir!” Genie called lightly, scooting Victoria out the door with a giggle.
