The Hogwarts Express was on it's way to the castle grounds. Damien was sitting in one of the back cabins, looking down into the book on his lap. It was his potions book and he was focused on it as he didn't focus on the area around him. He was alone in the cabin. Blonde hair, blue eyed, slightly tanned skin, button down blue shirt, and black slacks. He was handsome and shockingly alone in his cabin. He sighed flipping through pages on the book as he sighed a bit.
Closing the book, he placed the book on the seat beside him as he looked out the window. His eyes closing slowly as he heard a few students down the hall laughing and cutting up. He wondered why he was like he was. He didn't have any friends and he preferred being alone and sitting by himself. He wondered if this year would be different.

Eliana smiled at her friends, but inside was gritting her teeth. They were being loud, obnoxious, and their usual, but her pounding headache was making the chatter and screeching less enjoyable. Couple that with the fact that she wanted to read a little more in Hogwarts, A History finally drove her to stand. “Guys, I love you, and I’ll see you all later. I need a quiet compartment, I have a massive headache.” Her friends all make sympathetic noises but allow her to leave.
Sighing softly as she slides the compartment door shut on their chattering roar she rubs her temples, re-shouldering her messenger bag. She needed quiet, she needed piece. She needed an empty compartment. Turning, striding quickly down the cramped hallways, passing other students all indeed having a good time, she was at the end of the train without realizing it. With little other choice, she notices one compartment with only one person occupying it.
Slipping the door open, she lifts her green eyes to him, who was staring out the window. For a moment, no words would come. Finally, she managed to find her tongue. “Excuse me,” she said in a quiet, low voice, hoping to garner his attention. Her eyes dart to the discarded Potions book and feels a small smile flicker across her face.

Soft blue eyes with dirty blonde locks in front of them met her gaze. A very warm, soft smile formed on his lips before he pulled his bag from the seat across from him. "I suppose you are looking for a spot to sit? Come in, I don't mind sharing that which isn't mine." He said softly. His voice deep yet a gentle noise as he wondered who this little red head was. He looked her over, nothing on her being showed the house she was in. He wondered what had brought her back here. He assumed it was the loud noises from the cabin near by. He shifted in his chair as he thought about the possibilities of the year.
Maybe he would be able to be the top in Potions again. Perhaps even care for magical creatures as well. He had been obsessed with potions since his first day in the class. He sighed briefly as he glanced back out the window. His buttoned up shirt was undone at the top to show off his slightly tanned skin even under his shirt. His blue eyes skittering across the terrain as he was taking in the sights as they passed them. They were so pretty out in this time of year.

Eli smiles at him and whispers a soft thank you before crossing to the seat across from him. She slips her bag off her shoulders and sits delicately, letting out a sigh of relief from the noise. She reaches up and rubs her temples some, shutting her eyes slowly. "Ever have one of those bad headaches that it feels like nothing can touch?" She says softly to the boy across her.
She opens her eyes and looks him over, swallowing a little hard, getting hit by his good looks. Somehow, he didn't seem to know just how good looking he was. It didn't make her mad, though it made her quite curious about him. She tucks some loose strands of her red hair behind her ear and smiles brightly at the Potions book he had discarded.
"I'm Eliana Winters, or Eli for short," she said, keeping her voice quiet. "Hufflepuff. You?" She asks tilting her head. The curiosity in her voice was evident, and that curiousity helped ease her headache. She gestures to the book sitting next to him on the seat and says softly, "I personally find Potions pretty unbearable at times. You any good? I love my Charms and DADA class." She smiles at the thought of the two classes. She waits patiently for a reply from the silent fellow across from her, taking the time to study his features.

Damien's blue eyes looked her over admiring her good looks. She was a beautiful looking girl. Amazing and soft looking hair, soft looking skin lightly colored from the summer's sun, her taste in clothes was unique, something he found attractive within itself. He looked down on the book beside him. "Best subject is Potions. I dropped DADA and charms when I was able to. I am not very good at them. I suppose you could say it's a weak point I'm not to proud of. But, in these times I don't feel that the need for the more offensive and defensive spells are required. Though, they are something that we all should know something about even if it's just something minor, you know?" His accent was heavily British.
Obviously, he was from some where in England. He wasn't a city person so being unaware of his looks wasn't a thing he was taught to pay attention to. "Oh forgive me, I forgot to mention my name and house. I am Damien Sebastian Wright. Half blood, Gryffindor, 6th year. It's a pleasure to meet you Eli." He smiled as he held his hand out for her to shake. His head tilted to the side as his eyes seemed to have something comforting about them. He glanced outside the window as if he was nervous, though he wasn't. "Have you ever wished we were allowed to fly to school? Being cramped in this train makes things so...uncomfortable. I would much rather feel the wind, taste the air, and smell the scents that nature has to offer between the station and hogwarts."

Eli smiled at him and took his hand, shaking it, her skin cool against his. She noticed the difference in their skin colors but said nothing. He was awfully tan, she thought, flicking her green eyes back to his face. And awfully good looking. She wondered why she had never noticed him before. But then, hearing he was in Gryffindor, she wasn’t surprised. She didn’t hang out much with their crowd, though she had nearly been one, or at least she thought she was going to be.
“Gryffindor is a good house to be in, I heard. And its too bad you dropped Charms and DADA. Truly. Even in these peaceful times, I feel like everyone should know at least a few good offensive or defensive spells. Though I suppose in the first few years you do learn a few. I‘m still in Potions, and while I‘m not terrible, I find it a little…difficult to master” She brushes her red locks back over her shoulder and peers out the window.
At his comment about wanting to fly to school instead she says softly, “I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes these carts are very confining. I love my friends, but they are just too noisy for such a small space, Damien.” She rethinks over what he says and realizes she didn’t tell him her year or blood status. “Ah, I was very rude. I’m a 5th year Hufflepuff, Muggle-born.” Her gaze crawls back to his face, waiting for that reaction.
As she waits for his reaction, the one few wizards still gave her. Her whole school life, she felt, had been balancing on this one point. She was very pretty, funny, a little odd, but other than that she saw no reason why she shouldn’t be surrounded with friends. And then people learned of her blood status, and tended to move away. She sincerely hoped he wasn’t like that. She liked the look of this Damien. The name rolled off her tongue, but she felt mischievous for a moment.
“You know, I think I might call you Dami for short. That all right with you?” She tilts her head to the side, giggling softly under her breath. She crosses her legs, bringing attention to her new high heel shoes and the interesting tights underneath.

He smiled hearing her agreeing with him on the small amount of needed spells for offense and defense. He was glad that some people agreed with him, but she had mentioned that she was still in both DADA and Charms. "Perhaps you could have some free time and give me small tutoring lessons? I'm still interested in the spells, but I'm not one to study it religiously. I mean if you don't mind Eli." He smiled letting her words sink in before he would answer. He nodded happily, "I know what you mean. I don't have many friends, but the few I do have would bother me after a while with their obnoxious need to be louder than the one beside them. And it just keeps growing because no one likes to be pushed aside. I suppose it's human nature." He said commenting about the fact that in a group, everyone speaks and tries to be louder than the others.
He blinked hearing her go back and explain she was a muggle born. His head tilted to the side before smiling. "My dad is a Muggle. He was shocked when he found out mom was a Wizard back in the day. But he loves her so he was fine with it. Though he wasn't fine with me when I was a baby. I was showing signs of magic even before i was invited to Hogwarts. Stuff like making things move when he had his back turned. For a while he thought he was going insane I suppose." He laughed before looking her over. "I don't care what your blood status is Eli, it's just words and I'm sure you're probably better at magic than most pure bloods." Smiling warmly at her, his smile some how comforting.
His smile dropped as she mentioned the nickname. He blinked before laughing, "Dami, I like that. So sure. Dami it is." He chuckled a bit before looking back outside. He smiled wide before pointing. "Look," When she would look she would see a mother sheep and her baby. The baby barely able to stand as it fumbled behind it's mother bleeting probably. "People are so lost in their technology they don't see the beauty nature has to offer...I'm glad I was able to grow up in the country outside of London."

Eli nods at Damien, now dubbed Dami in her mind, as he mentions his blood status again. “I see, so your father had no idea when he married your mum? That’s a little funny. My parents were very surprised when they found out about Hogwarts. I have two older brothers you see, roughly 10-12 years older than I am. I was a surprise child. Special, they called me, even when I was stupid enough to climb the tree in our front yard to save our house kitten. I don’t know if I did any magic before coming here to Hogwarts. If I did, my parents never mentioned it.” She smiles at him, her eyes crinkling a little at the corners.
“As for tutoring, sure. I don’t have loads of free time, but I suppose I could put away Hogwarts, A History for awhile and be persuaded to tutor you.” She laughs a little, trying to flirt with him, but not knowing if she was succeeding or not. His smile and voice was a breath of fresh air in her life. Her heart was beating quickly, fluttering in her chest already. His eyes were like lakes, she thought, letting her gaze rest on them again.
When prompted, she turns to look out at the window, and lets a hand rest against the glass seeing the pair of sheep. “That’s so…I never noticed that before…Its really beautiful, seeing nature like that.” She smiles at him and watches until the train has passed them completely. “I grew up near London proper, in Brentwood, which isn’t very rural. So things like that never caught my eye, not until coming to Hogwarts. I find myself wandering the grounds quite often. There is this one tree by the Owlery I am very fond of. Maybe we could meet there for your lessons?” She offers.
She had scooted up on her seat to see out the window clearer and her knees nearly brushed against his. She flushes slightly and starts to scoot back into her seat when the train gives a sudden lurch, stopping briefly for a moment and then hurtling forwards. She squeaks as she feels herself shift hard out of her seat and ends up nearly on his lap, her legs between his, her arms braced on either side of his face.

Damien smiled as he nodded listening to her. "Brave thing to do to save a kitten. I would have done the same thing, but I was already climbing trees shortly after I was allowed outside by myself." He smiled warmly before laughing about the putting down such a boring book to tutor him. He found her flirting clumsy but flattering. "Well, then I might have to be very very thankful for you to put special time in your day for teaching me a few extra spells Eli." He said looking her over for probably the fourth or fifth time. He nodded at her statement. "The way nature is, is something very amazing. I could simply sit outside and enjoy the world as it was if not for my studies."
When the train lurched and pulled off, he was pressed back into his seat while the beautiful Eli was suddenly between his legs with her hands on either side of his head. Her eyes seemingly inches from his own as he looked her up and down, lips to eyes and eyes to lips. "Well hello there Ms. Winters. Tis a lovely afternoon we're having upon this rushing train isn't it my dear?" He said chuckling before nodding to the seat by him. "You can sit here beside me so you don't end up in my lap again if you would like."

Eliana flushes, her cheeks turning from a golden alabaster to bright crimson and mumbles a hi back to him before shifting, and moving to sit next to him instead. She ends up a little too close, her lean legs pressing against his on the side and scoots away slightly. "Sorry about that...I didn't think the train would lurch like that." She says, glancing at him.
Sitting this way, she felt closer to him, but it was harder to look at him now without being caught. She bites her lower lip delicately, and tries to cool the blush on her face. "Usually the train doesn't have this much trouble. Wonder if something is going on..." She mumbles, glancing nervously out the compartment door. Laughing students could be heard, but there was nothing underlying that could mean trouble.
She relaxes back against the seat and takes a few deep breaths before broaching the topic of his tutoring. "So, were there any particular spells you wanted to learn, Dami?" She asks softly, turning her body towards his slightly. Her green eyes take in his face again, and finds it hard to believe that he has few friends.

Damien smiled as he felt her leg on his. He didn't mind it so much as she thought he had. He looked over to her before looking up to the door of the cabin. He wondered now due to her mentioning it, what would have caused the train to stop then speed off. He shrugged letting the idea roll out of his mind as quickly as it had showed up. He yawned slightly before glancing around the cabin. What spells did he want to learn? He wasn't sure himself. He shrugged and smiled lightly as he looked back to her as she settled back against the chair after seemingly talking herself out of her assumption that something bad was happening.
He took a deep breath before tilting his head while watching her. "Well, I will learn anything you think I could benefit from. I've only learned the basics mostly." He said before thinking to himself again. He leaned forward before pulling a few things from his bag and offered her some fresh fruit. "Would you like some fruit? It's from my mother's Orchard that she tends to while father is out working. It's fresh of course." He smiled bringing up a strawberry to his lips biting into it and smiling.

Eli laughs a little, nodding her head. "Yeah, I love strawberries. I will never turn those down." She plucks one from his hand and bites into it, the juice running down her chin and staining her lips a darker shade of red. She flushes and wipes her mouth with her hand, grimacing a bit. "Mmm, very sweet and juicy." She giggles a little at her joke.
She leans across the compartment and grabs a handkerchief from her bag and dabs at her chin and then hands, wiping the sticky sweetness off as best as she can. Giving up, she licks her fingers and finishes off the strawberry, smiling at him. "Wow, your mom is a really good gardener huh? That was probably the best strawberry I've had in a while."
She pauses for a moment trying to think of something else to say and nibbles her lower lip a little bit. "I'm not sure which spells you should probably learn. I'll take a look in the books before our first session. If I wanted to get a hold of you in school...?" She says, her gaze resting on his.

Damien smiled as the strawberry he was about to eat was gone. He watched her pink lips close down on it as he tilted his head. The juice running over her pale skin as she almost made a mess made him chuckle. His blue eyes cast away as he was eating one himself. Why was he so talkative to a complete stranger. He was sitting here speaking to her like an old friend of his from back home. He laughed to himself before glancing back up to her seeing her think. When she spoke about the spells and how she would need to look them up before their first lesson, he nodded in response.
He couldn't believe she actually thought he was serious. He would take the lessons taught by her, but it wasn't the lessons he wanted. Because of the house difference, he was trying to find ways around it to get to speak to her more. She seemed like some one he would be able to enjoy talking with. He wondered if all Hufflepuffs were like her. If they were maybe he was in the wrong house. He had remembered the sorting hate telling him he was good for Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, suddenly he wished he was in Hufflepuff. Maybe he would have met her before now. He was almost certain he would have.

Eli giggles a bit as he just nods in answer to her question and smiles down into her lap before looking back up at him. Already, she could tell this would be an interesting...friendship? Relationship? She wasn't sure which she wanted. She did know one thing, she wished she had met this boy long before now. She pokes him in the chest delicately and giggles some more. "You didn't answer my question, Dami..." she says softly. "Maybe I should punish you!" She grins at him, teasing him a little bit.
Her hand brushes against his chest again before she pulls it away. It was hard to keep her hands off of him. For some reason, there was this pull she felt between them. She was enjoying talking with him way too much. But she didn't want it to end. "So, are you dating anyone right now?" She asks, her curiosity once again getting the better of her. She flushes after the words tumble out and she lets out a small indecipherable groan before rolling her eyes at the ceiling. "Sorry...that sounded like a bad come-on huh?"

Damien blinked hearing he hadn't answered her question. He tilted his head replaying her questions in his head as he had heard them just was lost in his own world. He closed his eyes and nodded. "Punishment would be mean. Perhaps you are a little more Mischievous than most little hufflepuffs tend to bed are we Ms. Winters?" He chuckled flirting with her slightly as he turned his head to the window again as he thought about it. "Well, you can leave a message with the portrait covering the opening to Gryffindor's common room. Or you can leave a message in the library for me. I'm always there and the Librarian will make sure I get the message." Blue eyes scanning back to her as he smiled lightly.
Was he dating any one? Bizarre question so soon into the meeting of one another. He figured she was interested in him and he wondered if this was a question to determine if he was worth trying for. He blushed, a crimson color flushing under tanned skin. He cleared his throat lightly before shaking his head. "I've not dated any one ever in truth. I tend to get choked up around girls I like. Or I lose my nerve to ask them when I can actually talk to them. Sorta like now." He said before pulling out a bottle. It was a soda he had smuggled into the train from a muggle gas station just outside the station.
